UN vote today

Sky at 7am and Russia Today @ 8am British Summer time noted that the Israeli and Palestinian security forces were cooperating bilaterally to ensure any protests / celebrations at the vote in the UN on Palestinian statehood in the Palestinian Territories and along its borders occurs peacefully. This is how it would work if there was said recognition and a common territory of Bethlehem and Jerusalem and Ramallah.

Thus peaceful celebration is a good way of aiding the UN vote and the democratic aspirations of both states against arms smuggling and imported terrorism into their combined territory and has a precedent with the Entente cordiale signed in the last century between The UK and French Republic.

Since then UK and French nationals have served in each others armies and police forces based on where they reside and this could be the precedence for remaining Israeli citizens living in citizens within the bilaterally agreed border of the new state to serve and participate in the Palestinian security forces especially now that Hamas and Fatah are in coalition and thus Palestinian Authoritys state security may no longer be factional.

If it gets dangerous this is one time to go home and not cause a revolt or intifada as today the world is rejecting Al Queada by removing its main grievance, the unresolved status of the Palestinian people since 1967 by aiding the creation of their own state in accordance with the Road Map for a two state solution.

Hence dialogue is the best option following on from todays and subsequent votes at the General Assembly (regarding enhanced observer status) and the security council.

No need for an intifada, theres a plan B Outlined on BBC Online
While the US is expected to veto any UN Security Council resolution that recognises Palestinian Statehood, the plan B could make the two state solution more likely. It isn't an intifada, its gaining parity with teh Vatican with Enhanced Observer status by a vote at teh General Assembly where no state has a veto. After that and with that mandate from the international community the neogotiations on final status of Jerusalem which this blog has suggestions on is made easier as it reduces the risk of Islamic radicalisation and another intifada.

Plus then a multifaith Palestine in its constitution could secede from Israel under Israels own arguments about it being conquered territory and follow the Czechoslovak model of secession and seperation. A united Jeruslaem, Bethlehem and Ramallah as Joint capital status under international control and with a common security force drawn from both Israel and Palesintian official security forces and with international assistance could then come into existence through Bilateral negotiation ratified at the UN.

Keep away from the Israeli Peace walls

On Russia Today this morning it was reported that some of teh Israeli borders in teh north of teh country are bing laid with landmines to deter support for any uprising. Hence as Palestine seeks statehood at the uN it is important for all neoghboruing states to police their borders and prevent the illegal supporting of terrorism by the importation of arms illegally (smuggling) and instead aid the support for the Palestinian state and negotiations for the two state solution.

Italy crdit rating downgrade

The Italian state has had its credit rating downgraded from A+ to A according to BBC News 24. Before there is Global currency speculation and stock exchange speculation against what have been termed by economists in teh past as teh 'PIGS' (Portugal, Ireland, Greece, Spain) that could cause problems to the entire Euro zone such as occurred in the early 1990s, lets pause and think.

If third world states such as those helped at Gleneagles can default on what they can't pay back and pack what they can over a longer time period (termed Sovereign Debt Restructuring), then why not the same for each state within the Euro Zone under aggreed ECB guidelines. It could make an interesting (and important for them too as their economies contain real people just like here in the UK) case study for how a federal UK with fiscal devolution to each of its national (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland) and other territories (Isle of Man, Channel Islands and Gibraltar, Falklands and other such territories) could operate fiscally autonomous and yet contribute to the federal state.

Tax inspectors to go collecting

So if tax evaders amongst the rich are to be tracked down, does that mean that all tax is to be pursued?

Lets hope that they also use the proceeds of crime and serious and organised crime act as well given that its the Jubillee and Olympic year.
