M5 crash in Taunton
This is difficult to write and should not be taken as an attempt to prejudge any independant inquiry, but what on earth?
1) Why is the M5 out there at a junction, unlit?
2) Was the road properly surfaced
3) Can like events be avoided in another large snow stormy winter, should teh M5 have a reduced speed limit while it is upgraded to 1 AND 2 or should it be closed more speedily and if so how without taking resources from other busier parts of the road network?
Any idiot watching the reporter on the bridge over the M5 could have judged that in the following morings news casts.

so should there be a second motorway to Cornwall at a lower altitude or at least a road upgrade on its west coast to augment improvements to the rail network already announced?
