Re transport devolution south of the river, handing over the Balham and Sutton loops to London Overground would free up capacity at the terminals south of the Thames for more services to outer London and the Home Counties.

However for that to succeed there would need to be an order for More of the London overground Dual Voltage stock and improvements on teh southern platforms to Clapham Juntion

Plus The Anglia service from Moorgate could be adapted for a tram / DLR type service to High Gate and Alexandra Palace along the disused Niorther Jeights line from Alexandra Palace

South of the river the housing estates need improving and being less high rise, high density.

Perhaps with the change of TV signal to sattellite digital and not analogue / radio wave, it may be necessary for some parts of that part of London to get a TV / DAB radio signal.

The rioters wanted equality of opportunity so perhaps better transport links with London Overground, Battersea Northern Line and Bakerloo line extension is whats required to help them out of poverty with FE courses and free travel with those on full time Apprenticeships (on top of their £95 a week apprentice pay and Housing and Council tax benefit for those who are on low income).

Locomotive illustrated thios month has good multi page spread on the Electrostar and Turbistar class rolling stock inj use now in Southern England, Scotland and now the London Overground (378)

In the future is it possible for more of either stock so that the Mitcham, Balham and Streatham suburban routes in South London, The Hounslow and Richmond and Wimbledon loops and Hampton and Windsor bracnhes in SW London and The Dartford / Eltham loop lines in Se London could be turned into a London Overgorund service so as to aid the Battersea / Clapham extension of the northern, the Bakerloo and Waterloo and City Lines. Clapham Junction and Wimbledeon might need better dwell times for those trains completing full loops.
